JAM Recruitment Ltd is currently recruiting a QHSE Manager to lead Quality, Health, Safety and Environmental activities across two manufacturing sites in the Black Country. You will drive regulatory compliance, incident investigation and continuous improvement within ISO frameworks.

Reporting to senior leadership, you will mentor Quality Engineers and Technicians, collaborate with Production and Engineering teams, and champion a culture of safety and sustainable performance.

Qualifications

  • NEBOSH-qualified professional.
  • Experience in foundry/heavy engineering manufacturing.
  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing legislation, risk assessment and environmental permitting.
  • Proven leadership of teams.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop the Quality, Health, Safety and Environmental strategy.
  • Ensure compliance with legislation, industry standards and customer requirements.
  • Drive quality improvement initiatives to reduce defects and waste.
  • Lead risk assessments, audits, investigations and corrective actions.
  • Manage and develop Quality Engineers and Technicians.
  • Collaborate with Production, Engineering and Quality teams to resolve issues.
  • Monitor performance through KPI reporting and analysis.
  • Support customer and supplier audits and external accreditation.
  • Develop and deliver training on safety and compliance.
  • Lead root cause analysis and preventative measures.
  • Analyze quality data and trends for improvements.
  • Support sustainability and environmental initiatives.
  • Act as primary contact for QHSE matters across the business.

QHSE Manager (Quality, Health, Safety andamp; Environment)

Based in Dudley, the QSHE Manager will hold dual-site responsibility for quality, health, safety and environmental compliance across a foundry and heavy engineering manufacturer. Working full time at 44 hours per week, this permanent post attracts a salary between £45,000 and £50,000 per annum. The successful candidate will maintain integrated management systems, lead audits, investigate incidents, and drive continuous improvement in line with ISO standards. Strong knowledge of manufacturing legislation, risk assessment and environmental permitting is essential, alongside proven team leadership. The role suits a NEBOSH-qualified professional keen to shape safety culture during a period of significant investment and expansion.

Salary: £45,000 - £50,000 per annum

Opportunity

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced QHSE Manager to lead Quality, Health, Safety and Environmental activities across two manufacturing sites. Reporting directly to senior leadership, you will play a pivotal role in driving quality improvement, regulatory compliance, workplace safety, and environmental performance. Working closely with Production, Engineering and Quality teams, you will champion a culture of continuous improvement, ensuring products, processes and people consistently meet the highest standards. This is a strategic leadership role for someone who can influence change, drive operational improvements, and support the continued growth of a successful manufacturing business.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and develop the company''s Quality, Health, Safety and Environmental strategy.

  • Drive quality improvement initiatives focused on reducing defects, variability and waste.
  • Lead risk assessments, audits, investigations and corrective action programmes.
  • Manage and develop Quality Engineers and Technicians.
  • Collaborate with Production, Engineering and Technical teams to resolve quality and process issues.
  • Monitor quality, safety and environmental performance through KPI reporting and analysis.
  • Support customer audits, supplier audits and external accreditation activities.
  • Develop and deliver training programmes that promote a strong culture of safety and compliance.
  • Lead root cause analysis activities and implement effective preventative measures.
  • Analyse quality data and trends to identify improvement opportunities.
  • Support sustainability, energy efficiency and environmental improvement initiatives.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for QHSE-related matters across the business.
What We''re Looking For
  • Proven experience in a QHSE Manager, Quality Manager, HSE Manager or similar leadership position.
  • Strong background within foundry, castings, heavy engineering, manufacturing, or metals processing environments.
  • Excellent understanding of quality systems, health and safety legislation, and environmental compliance.
  • Experience conducting audits, risk assessments and root cause investigations.
  • Knowledge of continuous improvement methodologies and quality tools.
  • Strong leadership and people management skills.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
