Job description

TXM Recruit are supporting a leading UK engineering and manufacturing organisation in their search for a mechanically minded QSHE Technician. This role suits someone who enjoys hands-on involvement with production, engineering, and quality processes while supporting Quality, Safety, Health, and Environmental standards across the site.

The Role

As a QSHE Technician - Level 2, you will help maintain compliance with ISO standards, carry out audits and inspections, support incident investigations, and assist in continuous improvement activities. Your mechanical understanding will be vital when working with assemblies, components, and manufacturing processes.

Key Responsibilities
Quality Assurance
  • Inspect materials, assemblies, and final products for mechanical and quality compliance.
  • Support investigations into non-conformances and customer issues.
  • Assist with quality plans, inspection criteria, and documentation.
Health & Safety
  • Conduct safety checks and support risk assessments.
  • Assist with incident and near-miss investigations.
  • Help deliver toolbox talks and safety briefings.
Environmental Compliance
  • Support environmental monitoring, waste control, and spill prevention.
  • Assist with audits and environmental reporting.
  • Promote sitewide environmental awareness.
Audit & Compliance
  • Participate in ISO 9001, 45001, and 14001 audits.
  • Maintain audit, inspection, and corrective action records.
  • Support supplier audits and follow-up actions.
Data & Reporting
  • Collect and review QSHE data and trends.
  • Assist with reports and dashboard preparation.
  • Maintain QSHE documentation and inspection logs.
Cross-Functional Support
  • Work closely with production, engineering, and procurement teams.
  • Support shopfloor staff on quality and safety procedures.
  • Escalate issues and identify improvement opportunities.
What You'll Need
  • HNC/HND or equivalent in Engineering, Health & Safety, or a related technical discipline.
  • Experience in a Quality or HSE Technician role within manufacturing or engineering.
  • Strong mechanical understanding and confidence with assemblies and inspection tools.
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 45001, and ISO 14001 standards.
  • Strong attention to detail and good documentation skills.
