Job description

The best compliance environments are built when standards become part of how people work, not just something checked during an audit. As QHSE Manager, you'll have the authority to influence how quality, safety and environmental standards are applied across a busy operational site, challenging existing practices and driving improvements that make a visible difference.

You'll take ownership of key management systems while working closely with operational and engineering teams to strengthen compliance, reduce risk and improve performance. There is also genuine scope to develop your career, with future opportunities potentially including group-level responsibilities, multi-site work and wider continuous improvement projects.

What's in it for you
  • A permanent position where you can directly influence site standards and performance
  • The autonomy to challenge existing practices and implement meaningful improvements
  • The opportunity to work closely with operational, engineering and senior management teams
  • Support to understand the site, its risk profile and key priorities during your first three months
  • Genuine progression potential into group-level, multi-site or continuous improvement responsibilities
  • The opportunity to lead future ISO recertification and process excellence projects
Your responsibilities as QHSE Manager
  • Maintain and continuously improve management systems in line with ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and relevant standards
  • Lead site health and safety activity, including risk assessments, safe systems of work, incident investigations and corrective actions
  • Manage internal and external audits, ensuring identified actions are tracked through to completion
  • Monitor performance measures, identify trends and use findings to drive practical improvements across the site
  • Work with operational and engineering teams to maintain product quality, safe working environments and environmental compliance
  • Maintain accurate policies, procedures and compliance records while liaising with auditors, environmental bodies and HSE representatives when required
What we're looking for in a QHSE Manager
  • Experience covering quality, environmental and health and safety responsibilities within manufacturing, engineering, logistics or another industrial environment
  • Strong working knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and UK health and safety legislation, including RIDDOR and COSHH
  • A NEBOSH qualification or equivalent recognised health and safety qualification
  • Experience developing and improving QMS and HSE systems, including audits, risk assessments and investigations
  • Ability to analyse performance data, produce clear reports and translate findings into practical corrective actions

Please note: Only those with the right to work and living within a commutable distance of Fife will be considered.
