Job summary

Applied Integration UK Ltd is seeking a proactive QHSE Assistant in North Yorkshire to support day-to-day Quality, Health, Safety and Environmental activities across engineering, manufacturing and project work. You will help maintain systems, records and drive improvements while ensuring compliance with standards.

The role involves assisting with audits, managing NCRs and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives across the business.

Qualifications

• Experience in Quality, Health & Safety within engineering, manufacturing or similar.
• Understanding of ISO 9001 and management systems.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and improve the company's Quality and HSE Management Systems.
• Assist with internal audits, workplace inspections and preparation for external/customer audits.
• Maintain NCRs and close corrective actions, audit findings and improvement actions.
• Support investigations into quality issues and incidents, including root causes.
• Assist with risk assessments, COSHH assessments and safe systems of work.
• Maintain QHSE records, registers, training records and controlled documentation.
• Produce and monitor QHSE KPIs and identify trends or recurring issues.
• Support supplier quality activities and project-specific requirements.
• Assist with inductions, toolbox talks and QHSE communications.
• Work with Engineering, Manufacturing and Project teams to improve processes and prevent quality or safety issues.
• Support continual improvement and increased use of digital tools in QHSE processes.

QHSE Assistant

Location: Stokesley, North Yorkshire

Department: Operations / QHSE

Reports to: Business Operations Manager

Role Purpose

The QHSE Assistant will support the day-to-day operation and continual improvement of Applied Integration's Quality, Health, Safety and Environmental arrangements across engineering, manufacturing and project activities.

The role will provide practical support to maintain compliance, improve standards, manage QHSE records and ensure actions are effectively followed through to completion.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the maintenance and improvement of the company's Quality and HSE Management Systems.
• Assist with internal audits, workplace inspections and preparation for external/customer audits.
• Maintain and monitor NCRs, corrective actions, audit findings and improvement actions through to closure.
• Support investigations into quality issues, incidents and near misses, including root-cause analysis.
• Assist with risk assessments, COSHH assessments and safe systems of work.
• Maintain QHSE records, registers, training records, calibration records and controlled documentation.
• Produce and maintain QHSE KPIs and identify trends or recurring issues.
• Support supplier quality activities and project-specific quality requirements.
• Assist with employee inductions, toolbox talks and QHSE communications.
• Work with Engineering, Manufacturing and Project teams to improve processes and prevent quality or safety issues.
• Support continual improvement and the increased use of digital tools and automation within QHSE processes.

Person Specification

We are looking for someone who is organised, methodical and comfortable working with people across an engineering business. The successful candidate should be willing to challenge poor practices while taking a practical and proportionate approach to QHSE.

Desirable experience/qualifications:

• Experience within Quality, Health & Safety, engineering, manufacturing or a similar environment.
• Understanding of ISO 9001 and management systems.
• NEBOSH General Certificate, ISO 9001 Internal Auditor training or similar qualifications would be advantageous.
• Good written communication and record-keeping skills.
• Strong Microsoft Office skills and confidence working with digital systems and data.
• Ability to investigate problems, identify root causes and follow actions through to completion.
