This Position reports to: Local Industry Lead, Paper UK

Represents ABB as Home‑Based Field Service Engineer in the North‑East of England on customer paper manufacturing facilities.

  • As part of the Northern Service Team provide 24/7 onsite support for ABB QCS and DCS equipment.
  • After initial ABB product training, you will be responsible to deliver the Service Agreement, including preventative and corrective maintenance on ABB QCS/DCS equipment, configuration, calibration, modification, cleaning, and adjustment.
  • Participate in a 1‑week on‑call rota.
  • Develop strong working relationships with customers across production and engineering.

Your Role and Responsibilities
  • Provide high‑level field and in‑house technical support, including out‑of‑hours support.
  • Fulfil Service Agreement obligations, demonstrated through the use of ABB ServicePro and other reporting tools.
  • Provide application support and software troubleshooting to customers, onsite and by remote dial‑in.
  • Advise clients on maintenance procedures, evolution, site planning, operational methods, process measurement, and control.
  • Travel flexibly to sites anywhere in the UK for the above activities, in addition to primary areas of responsibility.
  • Prepare and write technical reports for internal and external use.
  • Promote sales of maintenance services and equipment, including spare parts, and advise the Sales department of possible sales leads.
  • Assist Sales and Account management with the preparation of quotations.
  • Commission equipment in the field as part of the project team.
