Job description

Bureau Veritas is looking for QC Inspectors to join a prestigious UK Defence project near Reading, UK. This is a 12‑month initial contract, outside IR35, and requires a security clearance. Applicants must hold a British‑born UK passport.

Main Duties and Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain excellent relationships with internal and external customers.
  • Deliver independent inspection and quality control services at operational sites and vendors for new equipment in manufacture, fabrication and construction.
  • Inspect equipment ranging from Class 1 nuclear pressure equipment to items manufactured and installed to conventional codes, standards and regulations.
  • Review fabrication/manufacturing documentation within delegated authority levels, including quality plans, ITPs, fabrication/manufacturing procedures, welding and NDE procedures, and compile and review LTQRs.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
  • Good working knowledge of UK requirements for inspection within the nuclear industry or transferable experience from another high‑hazard industry.
  • Understanding of nuclear and conventional codes and standards relating to pressure equipment and pressure systems, including EN13445, EN13480, PD5500, ASME VIII, and associated materials, welding and NDE standards.
  • Proactive, self‑motivated approach to technical and non‑technical work.
