JBT currently offers a great opportunity for an QC Inspector to join the Proseal team in Cheshire.


The Opportunity ...

Your role:

As part of the inspection team, you will be responsible for ensuring that all raw materials, components, and manufactured and assembled products fully conform to internal and external stakeholder requirements, while maintaining a focus on safety, quality, cost, and delivery.

Key Tasks and Accountabilities:

  • Carry out inspections on goods inward materials, work in progress, and finished goods. Highlight non-conformance issues, maintain records, and notify relevant personnel of problems.
  • Be flexible in inspection roles and other duties within the business to meet production demands and customer expectations.
  • Ensure all inspection, measuring, and testing equipment is calibrated and within control. Request replacements or additional equipment as needed.
  • Identify opportunities for quality improvements.
  • Enhance manufacturing efficiencies and reduce product costs.
  • Assist in creating or revising work instructions for inspection processes.
  • Operate inspection equipment competently.
  • Ensure new measuring equipment is calibrated, validated, and meets quality standards.
  • Recommend reworks, concessions, and scrap disposal following the Non-Conformance Reporting System.
  • Maintain a strong understanding of measurement principles.
  • Comply with health, safety, and environmental regulations, and report any issues immediately.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years' successful experience in engineering, preferably with HNC/HND qualifications or equivalent.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
  • Dexterity and accuracy in using test and measurement equipment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications like Excel and Word.
  • Commitment to ongoing personal development and expertise growth.
