The Opportunity

Our client is recruiting for a QA/QC Inspector to support a major nuclear project. The successful candidate will be based in Barrow‑in‑Furness in South Cumbria, working 40 hours per week over 4 days on site. Rate will be dependent on experience due to the potential for candidates of different levels of seniority to apply.

The role will support the site Quality Lead team in all aspects of inspection and NDT techniques. The successful candidate should preferably have existing knowledge and experience in nuclear standards and processes.

Responsibilities

• Deliver a high quality, consistent and competent before, during and welding inspection in accordance with project/company requirements, standards and procedures.
• Ensure that all work scope is completed safely, with no detrimental impact to personnel, fabric or environment.
• Read, understand and implement all applicable company/project policies, working practices and procedures.
• Complete all work scope in accordance with applicable work pack/job card instructions, associated procedures and drawings/sketches.
• Provide inspection support to construction activities where required, as part of an integrated multi‑discipline team.
• Compile complete quality documentation in accordance with company and contractual requirements.
• Have thorough knowledge of fabrication and NDT techniques (VT, PT & MT).
• Have thorough knowledge of QC Inspection and Dimensional Inspection techniques.

Qualifications & Experience

• CSWIP 3.1 welding inspector or 3.2 senior welding inspector.
• CSWIP/ PCN Level II, Penetrant Testing.
• PCN Level II, Magnetic Particle Inspection.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience as a Welding Inspector.
• Good working knowledge of Health & Safety.

Nice to Have

• PCN Level II, Radiographic Interpretation.
• BGAS‑CSWIP/ICorr/NACE Coatings Inspector.
• DV/SC clearance.

Setting

The role will be mainly office based with trips to site if required. A safety induction will be provided.
