Job description

QA/QC Engineer

Location: Qatar

We are seeking a QA/QC Engineer to ensure the quality of engineering, procurement, construction, installation, and repair activities for onshore and offshore facilities. The role covers inspections, materials testing, welding, NDT, and compliance with applicable codes, standards, specifications, and company policies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure quality standards for equipment installation, modifications, and repairs are met across all projects.
  • Monitor and supervise QA/QC inspectors, contracted engineers, and NDT technicians to ensure compliance with procedures and standards.
  • Plan and oversee metallurgical failure analyses, reviewing reports and providing recommendations for corrective actions.
  • Perform QA/QC activities for procurement of materials and equipment, including purchase requisition reviews, technical bid evaluation, and inspection of received materials.
  • Review and approve repair instructions, welding procedures, and QA/QC reports generated by the team.
  • Develop new welding procedures and review/testing procedures including PWHT, NDT, and pressure testing.
  • Participate in asset and shutdown meetings, lessons learned sessions, failure investigations, and root cause analyses from a QA/QC perspective.
  • Provide technical input on scopes of work for maintenance contracts, evaluating contractor submissions, and ensuring QA/QC compliance during execution.
  • Conduct technical audits of suppliers and contractors' quality management systems and prepare audit reports.
  • Plan and ensure timely inspection and certification of gas cylinders, portable tanks, and lifting equipment in line with QA/QC KPIs.
Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Metallurgical Engineering.
  • Professional certifications in welding, NDT, or inspection.
  • Minimum 4 years' experience in QA/QC activities within the oil and gas industry.
  • Knowledge of QA/QC processes for pressure vessels, tanks, piping fabrication, welding, NDT, and auditing.
  • Proficient in written and spoken English.
  • Computer literate with data analysis and reporting skills.
  • Strong interpersonal, leadership, and team-working skills.
  • Ability to guide and support junior QA/QC staff and liaise with key stakeholders.
