QA Engineer (Java) - Fully Remote
Company Overview

Our client is an innovative fintech scale-up transforming digital payment infrastructure. With significant growth and investment, they're building out a new Engineering Productivity function designed to accelerate delivery while ensuring quality across their platforms.

This is a high-impact role for a software engineer who is curious about stepping away from feature delivery and into a space where your work will make every engineer more effective.

Role Overview

This is an excellent opportunity for a QA Engineer to join a forward-thinking tech environment where quality, scalability, and performance matter. You'll design and implement robust testing strategies across complex systems, working within an agile, collaborative culture that values technical curiosity and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and execute testing strategies for both functional and non-functional requirements.
  • Build and maintain test plans, cases, and automation scripts aligned with Agile principles.
  • Perform regression, integration, and exploratory testing across multiple environments.
  • Collaborate closely with Engineering, DevOps, and Product teams to strengthen CI/CD and QA practices.
  • Contribute to the development and enhancement of automation frameworks.
  • Uphold a "zero defects" mindset and champion quality across the SDLC.
Essential Skills & Experience:
  • Experience in Test Engineering, ideally within Java Environments.
  • Strong knowledge of software engineering concepts, QA methodologies, and BDD/TDD frameworks (JUnit, Cucumber, etc.).
  • Experience testing Web UI, APIs, and Java applications (J2EE / JBoss preferred).
  • Proficiency with CI/CD tools (Jenkins/Bamboo), Linux/Unix, and performance testing tools such as JMeter.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills with a proactive, collaborative approach.
Desirable Skills:
  • Exposure to Hibernate, MySQL, BigQuery, or NoSQL environments.
  • Familiarity with automation and performance tools (K6, Infinispan, Ansible).
  • Coding or scripting experience and a passion for continuous learning.
