Job summary

MCS Group is seeking a QA Automation Engineer to join its Belfast‑based team. You will design and maintain automation frameworks, implement automated tests and collaborate across developers, product owners and QA specialists to embed quality throughout the lifecycle.

The role emphasizes API, functional and end‑to‑end testing, with hands‑on experience in CI/CD integration and the use of AI tools to improve efficiency. Hybrid working model and ongoing professional development are provided.

Qualifications

• Proven QA automation experience in Agile or Scrum environments.
• Experience with Playwright, Selenium or Cypress.
• Programming skills in JavaScript, TypeScript or Java.
• Experience building, maintaining and optimizing automation frameworks.
• Hands‑on experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines.
• Comprehensive understanding of API, functional and end‑to‑end testing.
• Familiarity with BDD frameworks such as Cucumber.
• Knowledge of performance testing with K6 or JMeter.
• Experience using AI tools (Copilot/ChatGPT) to enhance testing workflows.
• Excellent communication with technical teams and stakeholders.

About The Role

We are currently seeking an experienced Quality Assurance (QA) Automation Engineer to join our client’s dynamic Belfast-based team. This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the development and delivery of high-quality software solutions within a modern Agile environment. As a QA Automation Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining automation frameworks that enhance testing efficiency and effectiveness. Qualifications

• Familiarity with Behavior-Driven Development (BDD) frameworks such as Cucumber.
• Knowledge of performance and non-functional testing using tools like K6 or JMeter.
• Experience utilizing AI tools such as Copilot or ChatGPT to enhance testing workflows.
• Excellent communication skills, capable of liaising effectively with technical teams and business stakeholders.
