Job description
Role Responsibilities
  • Play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and reliability of our healthcare and NHS Fleet Solutions systems.
  • Develop and maintain automated test cases using C# and Playwright.
  • Understand user journeys and manual test cases and convert them into automated test cases over time.
  • Set up test runs to execute as part of the CI/CD pipeline.
  • Collaborate with Business Analysts, Test Analysts/Engineers, and Developers to maintain high‑quality standards throughout the software development lifecycle.
  • Mentor and upskill QA Analysts and Junior QA Analysts in the automation framework and best practice.
  • Role‑model compassionate and inclusive leadership to shape collective leadership culture within the trust.
  • Promote and facilitate innovation and continuous improvement to deliver better services for service users and patients.

Qualifications & Experience
  • Degree level or equivalent, plus specialist knowledge from postgraduate diploma level or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Broad knowledge of all aspects of QA testing and understanding of the wider software development lifecycle.
  • Previous experience in a QA role.
  • Substantial experience creating and executing automated test strategies—both UI‑driven and code‑based as part of a CI pipeline.
  • Substantial experience creating and executing manual test strategies.
  • Experience writing coded tests using C# and the Playwright framework.
  • Ability to contribute to the organisational digital strategy by defining a QA automation roadmap aligned with Trust objectives.
  • Experience working in an Agile environment.
  • Engagement with project stakeholders.
  • Experience testing web‑based applications, with examples of security testing.
  • Advanced complex data management and manipulation skills, including detailed knowledge of mainstream development IDEs.
  • High‑level technical expertise within an operational IT, technical or systems management function in a proactive, team‑based environment.
  • Ability to challenge requirements and collaborate with developers to find solutions.
  • Leadership skills: inspire and motivate others toward high performance, set clear goals, provide support and guidance, and create development opportunities.
  • Contribution to a culture of high engagement, empowering staff to provide the best services and care for patients.
