Job summary

McGregor Recruitment is seeking a Network Automation Developer to join a large enterprise engineering team in Chester. The role focuses on building and maintaining Python-based automation scripts to improve network efficiency, visibility and incident response in a hybrid setup.

You will work with REST APIs, JSON, and Git, contribute to CI/CD and Infrastructure as Code initiatives, and collaborate with senior automation engineers to deliver robust solutions.

Qualifications

• Strong experience in network operations, automation, scripting or infrastructure support.
• Proficiency in Python scripting, writing and maintaining code.
• Understanding of enterprise networking including routing, switching, wireless and basic SD-WAN.
• Experience with REST APIs, JSON and Git.
• Basic Linux knowledge and troubleshooting.
• Familiarity with monitoring, telemetry and observability concepts.
• Good communication and collaboration skills.
• Willingness to learn and develop in network automation.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain Python-based network automation scripts.
