Job summary

Lambda World is seeking a Software Engineer to drive innovation in data architecture and product development. You will be integral to shaping data products for analytics, forecasting, and customer insights while collaborating closely with data scientists and machine learning engineers.

Qualifications

• Experience building and operating batch processing and distributed data systems.

What we’re looking for

Software & Data Engineering

• Strong expertise in Python
• Passion for writing:
  • clean
  • reliable
  • production-grade code

Distributed Data Processing

• Experience building and operating:
  • batch processing systems
  • distributed data systems
  • near real-time streaming pipelines
• Familiarity with:
  • Kafka
  • Flink
  • Spark
• Databricks experience is a strong plus

Databases & Data Warehousing

• Comfortable working with:
  • RDBMS
  • data warehousing solutions
• Strong understanding of data modelling aligned with business needs

Reliability & DevOps

• Experience with:
  • CI/CD pipelines
  • testing practices for data systems
• Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code tools such as:
  • Terraform
  • CloudFormation
• Thrive in collaborative environments
• Comfortable stepping beyond your scope when needed
• Strong sense of ownership and team spirit

Nice-to-Have

Data Governance & Quality

• Hands-on experience with:
  • Data Quality
  • Data Governance practices
• Familiarity with modelling approaches such as:
  • Star Schema
  • OBT
• Knowledge of modern architectures:
  • Medallion
  • Lambda
  • Kappa
• Experience building or contributing to cloud-based data platforms
• AWS preferred
