Job summary

Adecco is seeking a Senior Python Engineer to design, develop and maintain high-performance banking applications, implementing AI-driven solutions in a contract role.

The position is Inside IR35 with hybrid working. You will work on Python-based systems, manage SQL databases, and lead technical teams in a Linux environment, using modern automated testing methods.

Qualifications

• Strong experience in Python development with a solid understanding of OOP and software design principles.
• Proficient SQL skills (PostgreSQL, MySQL, or SQL Server) to handle complex queries and optimise databases.
• Hands-on experience with Linux environments, including bash scripting and application deployment.
• Proficiency in GIT, showcasing familiarity with branching strategies, code versioning, and pull requests.
• Experience with Agile project management tools, preferably JIRA.
• Knowledge of Test-Driven Development (TDD), Behaviour-Driven Development (BDD/Behave), and Unit Testing (PyTest).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, paired with excellent communication skills.
• A self-starter attitude with the capability to lead technical teams effectively.
• Prior experience in a banking or financial services context is essential.
