Job summary

SciBite, part of Elsevier, seeks a DataOps Engineer to maintain and evolve data and ontology pipelines that power its AI and NLP stack. You will work closely with Ontology and Data Science teams to build scalable automation and vocabularies that support customer outcomes.

You will contribute to production-grade pipelines using Python, cloud services, and orchestration tools, while improving tooling and processes across the DataOps group to drive efficiency and reliability.

Qualifications

• Experience in Python software development and testing.
• Unix/Linux proficiency and command-line comfort.
• Version control with GitHub and collaboration tooling.
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) and automation.
• Knowledge of ontologies, XML, and vocabulary development.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and develop critical ontology import pipelines.
• Support the Ontology Team in updating vocabularies and ontologies.
• Develop software to assist manual curation efforts.
• Build automation pipelines across the DataOps team.
