Purview Implementation Support Specialist

Purpose
To accelerate the adoption of Microsoft Purview within Ofgem by assessing current literacy levels, developing tailored learning pathways, and creating high-quality training materials for both the Data & AI Governance team and wider business users. This role will ensure that governance stakeholders and data stewards have the knowledge and confidence to use Purview effectively in line with Ofgem's RBAC model and domain structure.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess Current Capability:
- Evaluate the level of Purview literacy within the Data & AI Governance team and across the wider Ofgem business.
- Identify knowledge gaps and prioritise areas for development.
- Understand Ofgem's Purview Configuration:
- Gain a deep understanding of Ofgem's Purview setup, including RBAC (Role-Based Access Control) model and domain structure.
- Ensure training content aligns with organisational configuration and governance policies.
- Develop Training Pathways & Materials:
- Design a comprehensive training pathway for the Data & AI Governance team.
- Create a separate pathway for business users such as Data Stewards and Data Owners.
- Produce clear, practical, and engaging training materials that support hands‑on learning.
- Enable Digital Learning:
- Collaborate with internal teams to convert training materials into an online e‑learning package.
- Incorporate interactive elements and an end-of-course assessment to validate learning outcomes.
Key Outputs and Deliverables
- Capability Assessment Report:
Documented analysis of current Purview literacy levels within the Data & AI Governance team and wider Ofgem business, including identified gaps and recommendations.
- Configuration Understanding Summary:
Clear reference material outlining Ofgem's Purview configuration, RBAC model, and domain structure to inform training content.
- Training Pathways:
- Comprehensive training pathway for the Data & AI Governance team.
- Separate training pathway for business users (Data Stewards, Data Owners), tailored to their roles and responsibilities.
- Training Materials:
Engaging, practical, and accessible content to support both pathways, including step‑by‑step guides, reference sheets, and scenario‑based exercises.
- Digital Learning Package:
Fully developed e‑learning module in collaboration with internal teams, incorporating interactive elements and an end‑of‑course assessment to validate learning outcomes.
- Knowledge Transfer:
Ensure all materials and resources are handed over to internal teams for ongoing maintenance and future updates.

Essential
- Strong understanding of Microsoft Purview
- Experience in developing learning content and capability-building programmes.
- Ability to translate technical concepts into accessible, user-friendly materials.
- Familiarity with RBAC models and enterprise data governance frameworks.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
