Job Title: Purchasing / Procurement Manager
Location: Clevedon, Hybrid: Up to 2 days from home per week
Salary: Circa A GBP 50,000, negotiable depending on experience
Purpose of Role
To ensure customer order requirements are met for manufactured and factored products, supporting the delivery of business success. To provide capacity planning to ensure that production is kept at optimal capacity and customer lead times are met.
Overview
As Purchasing/Procurement Manager, you will report to the Operations Manager with a dotted line to the Finance Director and will have relationships with all other departments.
Responsibilities and duties within the role
- Develop and execute strategic sourcing plans for raw materials, parts, and equipment.
- Identify and qualify suppliers based on quality, reliability, and cost effectiveness.
- Negotiate contracts and pricing agreements to optimise procurement spend.
- Collaborate with all departments to align purchasing with operational needs.
- Monitor supplier performance and resolve issues related to delivery, quality, or compliance.
- Maintain accurate records of purchases, inventory levels, and supplier evaluations.
- Ensure adherence to industry regulations, safety standards, and company policies.
- Analyse market trends and risks to anticipate supply disruptions or cost fluctuations.
- Drive continuous improvement in procurement processes and supplier relationships.

Qualifications / Knowledge
- Proven experience as a procurement manager, preferably in manufacturing or industrial.
- Strong knowledge of procurement practices, supply chain management, and vendor negotiation.
- Familiarity with manufacturing materials (e.g., metals, plastics, electronics) and production timelines.
- Proficiency in ERP systems and procurement software.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and leadership skills.
- Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, Business, or related field.
- CIPS, APICS certification (or equivalent) is a plus.
