Purchasing/Procurement Manager – Clevedon, North Somerset (Hybrid Working Available, Post Probation)

Full-time, Permanent

Responsibilities
  • As a Procurement Manager, you will be playing a pivotal role in facilitating and guaranteeing customer order requirements are met for both manufactured and factored products, whilst supporting the delivery of business success. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working closely with others, thrives on refining processes and is driven to make things happen in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
  • Lead strategic sourcing for raw materials, parts, and equipment and make smart and efficient decisions that drive value throughout the business
  • Build and cultivate strong supplier relationships that deliver on quality, reliability, and cost at all times
  • Negotiate contracts and pricing to maximise impact and minimise spend
  • Collaborate across departments to align purchasing with real-time operational needs
  • Solve problems fast, from delivery delays to quality issues, you will keep things moving quickly
  • Keep records sharp and accurate, from inventory levels to supplier performance
  • Stay ahead of the curve on regulations, safety standards, and market trends
  • Drive continuous improvement in procurement processes and supplier partnerships
  • Communicate clearly and confidently, both internally and externally
  • Lead and motivate your team, setting priorities, supporting development, and managing performance

What you need

  • Strong knowledge of procurement practices, supply chain management, and vendor negotiation
  • Familiarity with manufacturing materials (e.g., metals, plastics, electronics) and production timelines
  • Proficiency in ERP systems and procurement software
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and leadership skills
  • A degree in Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, Business, or a related field
  • CIPS or APICS certification (or equivalent) is advantageous
