About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Purchasing Officer to join our dynamic commercial team. This full‑time position will operate across both our Welshpool and Bassendean facilities and play a vital role in supporting production by ensuring timely and cost-effective procurement of materials, components and consumables.

Reporting to the Finance Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for managing day‑to‑day purchasing functions, maintaining supplier relationships, and ensuring purchasing aligns with company procedures and production schedules.

Key Responsibilities
  • Process and manage purchase requisitions and orders in line with CPS Conveyors’ procurement policies and procedures.
  • Source, evaluate and negotiate with suppliers for optimal pricing, quality and delivery timeframes.
  • Maintain and update supplier records, pricing and inventory data within the ERP system.
  • Liaise closely with production and warehouse teams to ensure continuity of supply across both factory operations.
  • Track and expedite outstanding orders to meet project deadlines.
  • Support the coordination of logistics for incoming and outgoing goods between both facilities.
  • Assist in developing and improving purchasing systems, documentation and workflow processes.
  • Foster a positive environment that promotes a cohesive team within our business.
About You
  • Minimum 3–5 years’ experience in a purchasing, procurement or supply chain role, preferably in a manufacturing or mining services environment.
  • Strong understanding of purchasing and inventory management principles.
  • Experience using ERP systems such as M1 (not essential).
  • Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation and organisational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines while maintaining accuracy.
  • You are a supportive team member, willing to assist others as required.
  • A current C Class driver’s licence and willingness to travel between both sites as required.
  • Must have Australian work rights.
  • Qualification in Supply Chain, Business Administration, or Procurement.
  • Experience with mechanical components, fabricated assemblies or industrial hardware procurement.
