Following expansion, a global manufacturer supplying the Automotive, Aerospace, Defence and high technology sectors has a new vacancy for a Purchasing Manager. You will be responsible for overseeing the procurement process, managing supplier relationships, cost reduction and ensuring the timely and cost-effective sourcing of materials and services. Candidates are sought who have worked in a high-volume precision manufacturing environment with good management skills and a strong business acumen.

The Role
  • Develop and implement purchasing strategies that align with business objectives.
  • Negotiate contracts, terms, and pricing with suppliers to ensure cost-effectiveness.
  • Manage supplier relationships to maintain high standards of quality, delivery, and service.
  • Monitor inventory levels and forecast demand to ensure optimal stock levels.
  • Collaborate cross‑functional teams to support production schedules and operational requirements.
  • Manage the development of all volume purchase agreement negotiations and agreements.
  • Coordinate negotiation strategies with suppliers.
  • Develop purchasing pipelines and achieve savings excess of annual targets.
  • Ensure that the department is appropriately represented at group meetings.
  • Develop a culture that supports process management and continuous improvement.
The Person
  • Proven experience as a Purchasing Manager or Senior Buyer gained within the manufacturing sector.
  • Strong negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
  • Knowledge of supply chain management and inventory control.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems.
  • Previous leadership experience with a hands‑on approach.
  • CIPS qualification highly desirable.
  • A strategic thinker, you will be able to influence and implement change.
