Are you an experienced procurement professional with a background in manufacturing or engineering? We re seeking a Purchasing Manager to lead a dynamic procurement team and drive strategic sourcing initiatives at our site in Shirebrook.

About the Role

Reporting to the Group Supply Chain & Procurement Director, you ll be responsible for ensuring the effective sourcing and expediting of all materials to support business operations. You ll play a key role in managing supplier relationships, negotiating contracts, and driving cost efficiencies across the supply chain.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the procurement of direct and indirect materials and services, with a focus on engineering/manufacturing categories.
  • Manage and mentor the on-site procurement team, aligning with group strategy.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to source optimal products for projects.
  • Negotiate contracts and establish framework/service level agreements.
  • Build long-term supplier partnerships and improve performance.
  • Monitor material markets to support cost management and inflation control.
  • Implement cost-saving initiatives and report monthly progress.
  • Work closely with engineering, production, and quality teams to resolve material issues.
  • Manage inventory, reduce obsolete stock, and establish safety stock levels.
  • Deliver KPIs focused on cost, cash, quality, and service.
  • Support ad hoc projects and business needs.
