Job summary

EDM Limited, based in Manchester, is seeking a Purchasing Assistant to join the friendly purchasing team. The role involves ordering components per build requirements, expediting orders, and supporting the Purchasing Manager. It is a permanent, full-time position with hybrid work options.

You will review requisitions, obtain supplier quotes, convert requisitions to purchase orders, and liaise with planning and design to resolve part issues. UK security clearance is required.

Qualifications

• Experience in purchasing is preferred but not essential.
• Excellent administration skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
• Strong communication at all levels.
• Attention to detail and problem solving.
• Able to achieve UK security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Review Requisitions / MRP and consolidate where possible.
• Obtain quotations from approved suppliers.
• Timely conversion of requisitions to Purchase orders.
• Gain order acknowledgements and expedite to project requirements.
• Highlight any concerns to the Purchase manager regarding part supply.
• Identify and materialise savings.
• Liaise with Planning and design regarding part issues.
• Work with Quality engineers to resolve issues and return to vendor of materials.
• Assist Purchase manager with strategic projects / tasks.
• Work within the larger purchase department for joint projects / strategies.
