Purchasing Assistant - Production

I am currently looking for an accomplished Purchasing Assistant to play a pivotal role in establishing accurate supply of all components to meet the needs of the production plan.

Whilst managing inventory levels and supporting cost-efficiency initiatives, the role also involves the preparation of quotes, invoices, and other sales-related documentation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Advise customers of predicted delivery dates, updates on orders, dealing with customer queries.
  • Supporting Finance on the control of credit limits and chasing late payments.
  • Approving orders for accounts which are over original credit limit set.
  • Assisting the Sales Team with preparing reports, presentations, and sales data, researching and canvassing for new business, processing customer orders, ensuring accuracy and timely delivery.
  • Identify sales opportunities and pass leads to the sales team whilst supporting marketing campaigns.
  • Handling inbound calls and make outbound calls to existing customers to follow up on orders, check satisfaction, and identify upselling opportunities.

You will also be responsible for ensuring all artwork is produced accurately to customer specifications, is legally compliant regarding on-packaging warnings and supplied in time to suppliers for production of materials.

With proven experience of working in a sales environment - ideally in a production / manufacturing / engineering capacity - you will showcase the ability to find opportunities to explore in order to generate new business.

Qualifications

Relevant qualifications in Supply Chain, Logistics, or Business Administration would also be advantageous.
