Job summary

Bloor Homes is seeking a Purchase Ledger Manager for our Head Office in Measham, Swadlincote. You will lead a fast-paced Purchase Ledger function, develop our systems, and manage a capable team within a supportive environment.

You will oversee high-volume processing, end-to-end supplier invoicing and controls, with opportunities to improve processes in collaboration with IT and commercial teams. Hybrid options may apply depending on role.

Qualifications

• Experience running a large Purchase Ledger department in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience and understanding of VAT and Construction Industry Scheme (CIS).
• Extensive experience with Microsoft Dynamics (or similar).
• Ability to modernise workflows thereby reducing manual intervention.
• Ability to enforce robust internal controls and accounts payable policies.
• Proactive attitude and accountability.

Responsibilities

• Overseeing the accurate processing of high-volume supplier invoices, credit notes, purchase orders and contra charges.
• Managing and communicating period end processes with finance and wider business teams.
• Ensuring internal policies and procedures are followed to minimise fraud and errors.
• Collaborating with finance, commercial and IT teams to enhance systems and efficiencies.
• Liaising with software developers/providers to resolve day-to-day issues.
• Mentor and develop team members, set targets and manage workloads.

What Will Your Day Look Like?

You Will Be

• Overseeing the accurate processing of high-volume supplier invoices, credit notes, purchase order and contra charges, in a fast-paced environment.
• Managing and communicating period end processes, liaising with other finance colleagues ensuring awareness of implications for the wider business.
• Ensuring all internal policies and procedures are adhered to, minimising risk to the business from fraud, error and other irregularities.
• Working with the wider finance, commercial and IT teams to develop and enhance systems approach and efficiencies.
• Liaise directly with software developers / providers to resolve day-to-day issues.
• Mentor and develop all team members, set performance targets and manage daily workloads to meet business needs.

What You'll Need To Succeed:

• Previous experience running a large Purchase Ledger department in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience and an understanding of VAT and Construction Industry Scheme (CIS).
• Extensive experience of accounts software packages e.g. Microsoft Dynamics (or similar).
• An ability to modernise workflows thereby reducing manual intervention.
• An ability to take sole responsibility for enforcing robust internal controls and accounts payable policies.
• A proactive attitude and an ability to foster a culture of proactive, continuous and accountability.
