Job: Purchase Ledger Clerk

Organisation: Multi–Academy Trust, UK

Location: Working from home / remote

Contract: Full–time, 37.5 hours per week, 52 weeks a year, contract length about 3 months; Christmas closure period from 12:30pm on the 24th December 2025 to 1st January 2026 (inclusive).

Start Date: 1st December 2025 / as soon as possible

This large and respected Multi–Academy Trust is looking for a proactive Purchase Ledger Clerk to support their finance team during a busy period of about three months. Working from home, you'll be part of a school focused finance team.

Key Responsibilities include:
  • Matching POs entered by schools to invoices received directly from suppliers
  • Process supplier invoices and ensure accurate data entry into the ledger system
  • Reconcile supplier statements and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner
  • Prepare payment runs and ensure adherence to company policies
  • Collaborate with the finance team to ensure smooth month–end processes
  • Respond to supplier queries and build positive working relationships
Experience and skills required:
  • Previous experience in a purchase ledger or accounts payable role
  • Experience working within education is desirable
  • Experience matching POs entered by schools/departments to invoices received directly from suppliers
  • Strong numerical skills and attention to detail
  • Proficiency in using accounting software and Microsoft Excel
