What will the Purchase Ledger Assistant role involve?
  • Managing transactions across the group.
  • Full end‑to‑end purchase ledger responsibility including payment runs, supplier statement reconciliations, and handling supplier queries.
  • Managing staff expenses and reimbursements.
  • Supporting sales ledger and credit control functions (as a small part of the role).
  • Allocating payments and reconciling bank accounts.
  • Posting journals (no creation required).
  • Working with Sage 50 to maintain accurate financial records.
Suitable Candidate for the Purchase Ledger Assistant vacancy:
  • AAT studier or QBE (qualified by experience) considered.
  • Strong understanding of purchase and sales ledger processes.
  • Confident with reconciliations, payment runs, and ledger management.
  • Proactive and keen to identify and improve processes.
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills.
  • Experience using Sage 50 (or similar accounting software).
  • Reliable, methodical, and eager to contribute to a busy finance function.
