A major UK health organisation in Cardiff is seeking a Stock Management Technician to manage equipment orders and stock levels, ensuring essential services for patients. The role involves using stock control systems and collaborating with both clinical and administrative teams. Candidates should be well organised, possess a technical background, and thrive in a dynamic setting where they can make a difference in patient care. Enjoyment of gadgets and technical equipment will be beneficial in this position.
The Electronic Assistive Technology Service Wales (EAT) provides a holistic assessment, trials, long‑term loan and maintenance service that aims to enhance our patients' independence, mobility and ability to communicate. The EAT service is made up of four services but operates largely as a single entity with a common referral pathway, triage and treatment regimen. The service is provided by a range of registered healthcare professionals including Clinical Scientists, Speech and Language Therapists, Occupational Therapists and Clinical Technologists, supported by unregistered staff such as Administrators, Technical Instructors and, hopefully, soon you as the Stock Management Technician.
The successful candidate will be responsible for ordering and preparation of requested EAT equipment, as well as for maintaining adequate stock levels of spare parts. They will receive, check and distribute deliveries of the equipment, including posting it further to remote service bases. If you are well organised, have some technical background, enjoy playing with gadgets and keep your area of responsibility in order, we would like to hear from you.
