The City of Edinburgh Council is recruiting a Pupil Support Assistant for St Francis RC Primary School in Edinburgh. The role is fixed term until June 2027, part-time (26.40 hours per week, 39 weeks per year) with shifts Monday to Thursday and Friday mornings.

Qualifications

• 1-1 support for pupils with additional needs
• Provision of personal care and safeguarding
• Administering medication and related paperwork
• Assisting in learning activities and routines
• Contributing to pupil wellbeing and safety procedures
• Supporting transitions and community activities

Responsibilities

• Work as part of a school team to safeguard pupil health, safety and welfare
• Provide 1-1 support and help pupils follow instructions
• Provide personal care and encourage independence while ensuring safety
• Administer medications per training and complete paperwork
• Support mobility and movement for pupils as required
• Assist in learning activities and interventions with groups or individuals
• Contribute to pupil learning profiles and attend meetings as needed
• Follow risk assessments and liaise with staff on welfare matters
• Support positive relationships and emotional wellbeing using evidence-based approaches
• Supervise play and support during break times
