Job summary

SER Limited in Edinburgh is seeking a Pump Technician with an electrical bias to install, maintain, repair and fault-find on pumping equipment across industrial, commercial and domestic environments. This hands-on role requires strong fault-finding, testing and customer service skills.

You will work on booster sets, sump pumps, drainage pumping stations and HVAC systems, carrying out planned maintenance, reactive repairs and installations, with on-call rota included.

Qualifications

• City & Guilds qualification in electrical discipline.
• At least three years' post-apprenticeship experience.
• Experience with electrical systems for pumps and pumping equipment.
• Strong electrical fault-finding, testing and repair skills.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Physical capability for heavy lifting and confined spaces.
• Experience with booster sets, sump pumps, drainage pumping stations or HVAC pumping systems is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned maintenance, reactive repairs and installation work on pumping equipment and associated systems.
• Diagnose electrical faults and undertake repairs to ensure equipment operates safely and efficiently.
• Complete testing and inspections following maintenance, installation and repair work.
• Work on equipment including booster sets, pressurisation units, sump pumps, sewage or drainage pumping stations, HVAC pumping systems.
• Assist with system commissioning and ensure all work meets standards and specifications.
• Maintain accurate electronic job cards and close out work promptly.
• Participate in an out-of-hours on-call rota.

The Opportunity

Are you an electrically biased Pump Technician looking for your next career move?

We're looking for an experienced engineer to install, maintain, repair and fault-find on a variety of pumping equipment and associated systems across industrial, commercial and domestic environments.

This is an excellent opportunity for an electrically qualified engineer with experience in pump systems who enjoys a hands-on role, solving technical problems and delivering a high standard of customer service.

You’ll work across a varied range of equipment, carrying out planned maintenance, reactive repairs, installations and testing, with opportunities to utilise and develop your technical expertise.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out planned maintenance, reactive repairs and installation work on pumping equipment and associated systems.


• Diagnose electrical faults and undertake repairs to ensure equipment operates safely and efficiently.


• Complete testing and inspections following maintenance, installation and repair work.


• Work on a range of equipment, including booster sets, pressurisation units, sump pumps, sewage and drainage pumping stations, HVAC pumping systems and grease removal systems.


• Assist with system commissioning and ensure all work meets relevant standards and specifications.


• Maintain accurate electronic job cards, ensuring all work is recorded and closed out promptly.


• Participate in an out-of-hours on-call rota.

What We're Looking For

• A City & Guilds qualification or equivalent in a relevant electrical discipline.


• At least three years' relevant post-apprenticeship experience.


• Experience working with electrical systems associated with pumps and pumping equipment.


• Strong electrical fault-finding, testing and repair skills.


• A full UK driving licence.


• The physical capability to undertake heavy lifting and work in confined spaces where required.


• Experience with some of the following would be advantageous: Booster sets and pressurisation units, Sump pumps and sewage or drainage pumping stations, Thermal expansion systems, HVAC and associated pumping equipment, System commissioning, Grease removal systems.
