Job summary

Ernest Gordon Recruitment Limited is seeking a Pump Engineer for a field-based role covering Aberdeen and surrounding areas. You will install, service and maintain pumping equipment across commercial, industrial and domestic projects, diagnosing faults on-site and supporting customers directly.

The role requires a strong electrical/mechanical engineering background and a full UK driving licence, with opportunities for progression and company benefits.

Qualifications

• Proven electrical/mechanical engineering background.
• Experience with pumping systems or similar machinery.
• City & Guilds or equivalent qualification in electrical/mechanical discipline.

Responsibilities

• Install, service and maintain pumping equipment on varied sites.
• Perform fault-finding and reactive repairs as required.
• Conduct system testing and commissioning of pump installations.
• Diagnose and resolve issues on booster sets, pressurisation units and drainage systems.
• Work directly with customers on site and provide on-site technical support.
• Take part in the on-call rota outside normal hours.

Are you a Pump Engineer or Mechanical/Electrical Engineer looking for a varied field-based role working on a wide range of commercial, industrial and domestic pumping systems?

This is an excellent opportunity to join an established pump installation and servicing business with around 60 employees and multiple branches across Scotland and the North of England. The company provides specialist pumping solutions across water infrastructure, commercial, industrial and other key sectors, with a strong reputation for quality and technical expertise.

In this role, you'll install, service, maintain and fault-find on a variety of pumping equipment and associated systems. You'll work directly with customers on site, diagnose problems, complete installations and commissioning, and provide technical support to clients and colleagues.

The ideal candidate will have a strong electrical/mechanical engineering background with experience working on pumping systems, and be comfortable working independently across customer sites.

The Role:

• Installing, servicing and maintaining a range of pumping equipment
• Carrying out reactive repairs and fault finding
• Working on booster sets, pressurisation units, sump sets and drainage systems
• Carrying out system testing and commissioning
• Completing inspections to ensure equipment is fully operational
• Taking part in the out-of-hours on-call rota

The Person:

• Pump Engineer, Service Engineer, Maintenance Engineer or similar background
• City & Guilds or equivalent qualification in an electrical/mechanical discipline
• Full UK driving licence
