Lecturer in Public Services

  • Salary:£30 - £35 per hour including holiday pay

Reed FE are working with a College in Stoke and we are seeking a dedicated Lecturer in Public Services to plan, implement, and deliver comprehensive programmes related to Public Services. This role involves teaching across various levels, including BTEC L1 Intro Diploma to the Public Services, NCFE L2 Dip in Entry for the Uniformed Services, and NCFE L3 Ext Dip for Entry to the Uniformed Services.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate, design, deliver, and develop programmes of study for groups of learners.
  • Collaborate with the Head of Learning, Subject Lead, and other Lecturers to develop best practices in learning, teaching, and assessment, ensuring standardisation and continuity.
  • Assess learners according to established guidelines and provide a positive learning experience.
  • Monitor and track learner progress and performance using online systems and virtual learning platforms.
  • Assist in the development of full-time programmes through the curriculum planning process.
  • Design, develop, monitor, and share resources for learner use.
  • Act as a personal tutor to groups of learners, supporting their Individual Learning Plans and coordinating tutorial support.
  • Participate in parent evenings, open events, enrolment, and interviewing applicants.
  • Keep up to date with curriculum initiatives and engage proactively with the College’s CPD programme.
  • Contribute to internal and external quality assurance procedures in line with Awarding Body and college requirements.
  • Complete necessary documentation and maintain appropriate records of learner performance and attendance.
  • Attend and contribute to relevant meetings within the School and the college.
  • Maintain standards of learner behaviour and attendance in accordance with college policies.
  • Work flexibly as directed by the line manager and implement the college’s mathematics and English code.
