Job summary

Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) is seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to lead the commercial and financial management of a diverse portfolio of estate projects. The role involves challenging budgets, approving procurement and driving value for money in line with the Estates strategy.

You will collaborate with the supplier partner network, including Framework Contractors and Professional Services Consultants, to ensure robust cost assurance, cost planning, and governance across lifecycle,

Qualifications

• End-to-end commercial and financial management of projects.
• Ability to challenge budgets and procurement decisions.
• Experience delivering cost assurance across major projects.

Responsibilities

• Provide independent cost oversight from inception to final settlement.
• Budget challenge for major projects and tender reports.
• Develop cost plans and cost estimates for strategic programmes.
• Collaborate with Estates colleagues to ensure value for money.
• Establish and manage procurement policies for projects and programmes.
• Support cost improvements with supplier partners and benchmarking.
• Ensure data from completed projects informs future estimates.
