Job summary

Buckinghamshire Council's Legal Services team is recruiting experienced lawyers across Adults, Children, Commercial, Criminal, Education, Highways & Planning to deliver high-quality legal advice and robust public service. You will manage a varied caseload, draft and negotiate documents, and represent the Council at hearings and courts where appropriate.

Qualifications

• Qualified solicitor, barrister or chartered legal executive with relevant experience in one or more specialist areas listed.
• Strong technical legal knowledge and ability to provide clear, practical advice.
• Experience managing a varied legal caseload across public sector areas.

Responsibilities

• Manage a complex and varied legal caseload across multiple specialist areas.
• Provide clear, practical and solution-focused legal advice.
• Draft and negotiate legal documentation and contracts.
• Represent the Council at hearings, tribunals, meetings and relevant court proceedings.
• Advise officers, senior managers and elected Members.
• Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
• Support continuous improvement and professional excellence within Legal Services.
