Job summary

North Wales Police is seeking a Financial Control Accountant to lead the production of annual statement accounts, financial governance, capital accounting and pensions accounting. The role holder will provide strategic direction, leadership, quality of service and professional advice within the Finance department.

As a senior management team member, you will set direction, ensure compliance and work in a hybrid working arrangement from Colwyn Bay HQ.

Qualifications

• Fully qualified accountant from a recognised professional body, preferably CIPFA.
• Alternative: part qualified pursuing final stage of qualifications with public sector experience.
• Experience in the financial and technical aspects of accounting within public sector finance.
• Able to deliver quality outputs to tight deadlines and communicate with non-financial audiences.
