Job summary

Civic Recruitment Limited is seeking a Business Change Accountant on a 6-month contract with a London-based local authority (Greenwich). The role delivers professional financial management, business partnering, and accountancy support across the Accountancy Business Partnership Service to ensure statutory Section 151 responsibilities are met.

You will advise managers, drive financial stability and create management information, forecasts and financial reports.

Qualifications

• Qualified or significant experience in public sector finance.
• Experience with budget setting, monitoring and year-end processes.
• Ability to provide financial advice to managers and senior officers.
• Strong analytical and reporting skills with attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Provide financial management and business partnering across Council services.
• Support statutory Section 151 obligations and governance requirements.
• Assist in delivering financial strategies, policies and corporate objectives.
• Produce management information, forecasts and financial reports.
• Undertake complex financial analysis and drive continuous improvement.
• Line manage and develop finance staff where allocated.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to support service plans and transformation.
• Support Treasury Management and external audit inquiries.
