Qualifications

• Fully qualified accountant with experience in technical finance roles in a complex setting, ideally in the public sector.
• Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical information to stakeholders.
• Applications from those in Practice with exposure to public sector clients are encouraged.

Responsibilities

• Support the timely preparation and production of the Council’s Statement of Accounts.
• Build strong working relationships with key stakeholders across the Council and external auditors.
• Provide technical advice and support to finance and non-finance stakeholders across the Council.
• Maintain control of the Council’s Balance Sheet to ensure financial resilience.
