Job summary

London Local Authority is seeking a Contracts and Procurement Lawyer on a locum basis to support in-house legal matters. The role requires hands-on experience with public sector procurement, construction contracts, and complex drafting.

The ideal candidate will be a qualified Solicitor, Barrister, or Legal Executive with strong experience in GDPR-related contract issues and practical IT skills for contract software. This is a hybrid post with office attendance one or two days per week.

Qualifications

• Experience in public sector contracts and procurement.
• Advising on construction contracts including JCT/NEC.
• Ability to interpret complex contracts and draft legally binding documents.

Responsibilities

• Provide legal advice on Contracts, Procurement, Corporate and Commercial Law.
• Advise on GDPR implementation in Contracts.
• Represent the Council in procurement matters and contract negotiations.
