Harvey Nash Plc is seeking a Communications Officer for a 6-month contract with a weekly hybrid pattern in Edinburgh. The role focuses on supporting policy with ministers, handling media relations and creating compelling content across platforms.

Responsibilities include coordinating campaigns, drafting press material and engaging diverse audiences. The successful candidate will work across departments and may participate in after-hours media duties as needed.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated ability to build relationships with journalists and stakeholders.
• Strong understanding of content creation, distribution and consumption.
• Ability to produce engaging content for diverse audiences and channels.
• Resilience to maintain effectiveness under pressure.
• Public sector comms experience is preferred.

Responsabilités

• Support strategic communications planning and advise senior stakeholders on reach.
• Coordinate initiatives and events across media, digital and social channels.
• Draft, publish and promote press releases and other content.
• Plan media opportunities and content-capture events.
• Respond to information requests, official comment and interviews.
• Create and evaluate digital content including photos and videos.
• Assist in developing campaigns with marketing, digital and insight teams.
• Participate in out-of-hours media duty rota as required.
