Grant Thornton UK is offering a structured Public Sector Audit trainee program, providing rapid exposure to central government, NHS and local authority work. You’ll gain hands-on experience from day one, using real data and samples while building expertise in audit and financial reporting.

You will join a high-potential cohort focused on developing professional judgement, analytical skills and collaborative client service in a digital-first environment.

Qualifications

• Public Sector Audit role within GT UK, exposure to NHS and local councils.
• Build client relationships and develop technical audit and financial reporting skills.
• Hands-on experience from day one with data sets, samples and evidence gathering.
• Apply professional judgement to assess client policies and estimates.
• Analyse financial statements and internal controls to understand money, risk and operations.

Responsibilities

• Work with a variety of public sector clients including central government and NHS bodies.
• Develop relationships with clients and deepen technical expertise in audit and financial reporting.
• Handle real data and samples early on to assess impact of errors.
• Apply professional judgement to policies and estimates used by clients.
• Review internal controls and understand how organisations manage money and risk.
