A look into the role

Our Assistant Managers come from a range of backgrounds. As a Healthcare Advisory Assistant Manager in Public Services Advisory team, you will:

• Demonstrate project management skills and contribute to the delivery of major end-to-end client projects to quality, timeliness and financial targets and oversee smaller projects
• Produce project documentation and client reports ensuring that these are high quality, professionally presented reports, with input from managers and associate directors
• Demonstrate good analytical skills, preferably with experience of Excel and/or tools such as BI dashboards
• Develop an understanding of client needs and ensure an excellent standard of support is provided to clients
• Mentor associates giving regular feedback and development opportunities
• Assist the management team with proposal development and delivery
• Maintain assignment files and identify key issues early to discuss with your manager
• Ensure bills are raised and costs are collected on a timely basis
• Demonstrate a clear appetite for self-development through the performance review and personal development plan process, taking responsibility for developing your own technical and personal skills

Joining us as an Assistant Manager, the minimum criteria you’ll need are a university level qualification or relevant experience. A professional qualification (e.g. ACA, CIPFA, Prince2, CIMA, CFA) is desirable

• Worked within or consulted into the Healthcare sector ideally in one of our core offerings: finance, major capital projects, service transformation, workforce, clinical strategy, analytics.
• An understanding of health policy and its impact on the NHS
• Experience of advising internal or external clients
• Good analytical skills which produce insight for clients to help solve the demanding problems clients in the NHS face
• Good verbal and written communication skills
• A commitment to diversity and inclusion
• Self-motivated with evidence of innovation and initiative
• Team player and able to work across multiple projects in parallel
