Job summary

Essex & Kent Police seek a Public and Personal Safety and Taser Training Instructor to deliver PPST and Taser training at Essex Police College in Chelmsford. You will run classroom, practical and scenario-based sessions for officers across the force, working within the PPST and Taser packages.

The role requires PPST/Taser Instructor qualification, current JRFT/EFA, and the ability to debrief attendees both verbally and in writing, with IT skills including Chronicle data entry.

Qualifications

• Trained and qualified PPST or Taser Instructor.
• Currently trained in PPST/JRFT and Emergency First Aid (EFA).
• Experience using the National Decision Model (NDM) in use of force or de-escalation.
• Proven supervision skills and ability to develop colleagues.
• Experience leading a team to achieve a force plan.

Responsibilities

• Deliver a variation of classroom, practical and scenario-based PPST and Taser training.
• Debrief course attendees verbally and in writing to support development.
• Admin tasks including reviewing Use of Force, data input to Chronicle system and course updates.
• Maintain IT competency including Microsoft Office applications.
