BDBC is looking for an Associate Vice President to join our award‑winning and fast‑growing performance PR agency.

Salary Range:

• $115,000 – $135,000

This is a full‑time position. It is also fully remote, however we do follow the standard Mon‑Fri / 9‑5 work schedule (EST).

We work collaboratively with our clients to craft pitches that editors actually want to see, and secure placements in top tier publications that drive direct sales and increase brand awareness.

About the position

The Associate Vice President will work directly alongside me, the CEO, and help to manage an incredibly talented and dedicated eight‑person team. In a nutshell: your job will be to draw on your years of experience and hard‑earned expertise to help our staff do the best work they’re capable of doing.

• Aiding in pitch ideation and execution
• Aiding in target identification and communication strategy
• Helping to manage client relationships
• Devising and implementing internal training initiatives
• Devising and implementing internal incentivization initiatives
• And if you can generate a couple leads while you’re at, that certainly wouldn’t hurt

About you

• You’re a fashion / lifestyle PR pro, with at least seven years experience under your belt and an in‑depth understanding of the current PR landscape (it ain’t what it used to be)
• In your previous supervisory role(s), you successfully improved employee performance while maintaining (or maybe also improving) employee morale (and when I eventually ask you for references that include people you’ve managed, you’ll be happy to give them)
• You have a long, long list of tier 1 media contacts (who are still happy to hear from you)
• You’re an excellent writer (or excellent ChatGPT editor)
• You understand how affiliate programs work
• You’re a born problem solver and - cliche phrase warning - you’re able to think outside‑of‑the‑box to find a solution
• You have excellent bedside manner, and that’s apparent in all of your staff and client interactions
• You have excellent communications skills (which you’d think would be a requisite for doing comms work, but you’ve been doing this long enough to know that, sadly, it isn’t)
• You are extremely detail oriented
• You are great at time management and meeting deadlines
• You take the work more seriously than you take yourself
• You work well on your own, but...
• You are not too embarrassed or proud to ask for help when you need it
• You are looking for a position you can make your own at a company you can grow with (if you’re not in it for the long haul, then this isn’t the job for you)
