Trading Standards is at the heart of consumer protection–from tackling counterfeit goods and unsafe products to ensuring businesses play fair. It’s a varied, challenging, and respected profession that combines investigation, law, and public service.

What Will You Do?

Who are we looking for?

An enthusiastic, motivated individual with a strong sense of fairness and integrity. You’ll need excellent communication and problem‑solving skills, and you’ll have the ability to work independently and as part of a team. Welsh language skills are desirable, but if you aren’t fluent, we’ll help you learn within two years.

Training provided: You don’t need to be fully qualified – we’ll support you to gain professional Trading Standards qualifications, including the Trading Standards Practitioner Certificate and specialist modules in areas like food standards, product safety, and animal feed.
