Job summary

East of England Community Health and Care NHS Trust (Cambridge) is seeking a Public Health Practitioner (0-19, School Nursing) to join the 0-19 Team in Cambridge City. The post requires current NMC registration, a passion for public health, and a commitment to improving health outcomes for children, young people and families within South Cambridgeshire.

You will work within an integrated 0-19 team, with induction and ongoing workshops, supporting the School Nurse in delivering universal services

Qualifications

• Current NMC registration and active practice.
• Evidence of ongoing professional development.
• Strong knowledge of child development and public health nursing.
• Understanding of the Healthy Child Programme practitioner role in public health.
• Experience studying at degree level (level 6) in the last 3 years.
• Experience supervising students in practice or as assessors.

Responsibilities

• Deliver 0-19 Healthy Child Programme services with a focus on school-age children.
• Manage an identified caseload across multiple settings (schools, clinics, homes).
• Collaborate with multi-agency partners to address health inequalities.
• Lead or support delivery of health promotion activities and early intervention programmes.
• Support SCPHN in achieving public health outcomes and safeguarding requirements.
• Participate in safeguarding processes, training and supervision as required.
