Your Purpose

This role focuses on strengthening onboard public health performance through proactive support and continuous improvement. By providing real-time problem‑solving, targeted training programs, and responsive guidance tailored to regional and vessel‑specific needs, the position ensures consistent SOP implementation and inspection readiness. It also drives the coordination of internal and external audits to elevate standards and corrective actions. In parallel, the role ensures Public Health SOPs are regularly reviewed and updated to reflect evolving regulations, industry best practices, and lessons learned from audits while maintaining clarity and consistency across all regions and exceeding international benchmarks such as VSP, SHIPSAN, ANVISA, and Health Canada.

Your Impact
  • Works with Public Health & Food Safety Coordinator to arrange all Internal and external ship Audits and coordinate Public Health Travellers schedules.
  • Reviews internal audit reports and non‑conformities prepared by the Travelling PH Auditors and share with shoreside departments.
  • Coordinates with External Consultants for announced external inspection program.
  • Coordinates with Bureau Veritas Italia (BV) for the BV ISO22000 audit schedule for the fleet and office.
  • Visits ships periodically to facilitate ISO22000 accreditation and support the audit program.
  • Analyses audit trends and root cause for compliance failure to inform SOP revisions and training needs.
  • Manages performance development and credential platform for Travellers, PHO's and PCT's.
  • Provides onboarding support and ongoing education for ship PH officers and crew.
  • Coordinates with other shoreside departments regarding identified root causes and suggestions from the ships to update prerequisite programs and Food Safety SOPs related to inspection findings.
Your Journey so far
  • Significant experience (minimum 2 years) in public health and food safety management system audits.
  • Understanding of ISO 22000 standards, and other public health regulations required.
  • Job specific competencies:
    • Expertise in audit coordination, training program development, SOP review, and compliance management.
    • Strong analytical skills for trend analysis and root cause identification.
  • Experience coordinating internal and external audits and managing compliance programs.
  • Level of management experience: Previous management experience within maritime or hospitality industry.
Your Essentials
  • Experience of 2 years in cruise industry / Hospitality with strong public health and food safety exposure.
  • Bachelor's / Master's Degree in Public Health, Environmental health or Food Science (preferred).
  • Additional education / qualifications in the maritime sector / ISO22000 preferred.
  • Language Skills: Fluent English (additional languages are an asset).
  • Proficiency in MS Office, audit reporting tools, and any training platforms.
  • Ability and willingness to travel frequently internationally.
  • Existing right to live and work in the UK.
