Job summary

British Garden Centres is seeking a skilled Chef for a busy kitchen in our pub setting. You will prepare delicious meals to the menu and deliver them promptly to customers, with a focus on taste and consistency.

The role requires experience in a busy kitchen, the ability to work to specs, and a calm, reliable approach during busy periods. Hours include weekdays, evenings, and weekends, with staff parking and staff discounts as part of the package.

Qualifications

• Experience in a busy kitchen and able to work to strict specs.
• Creative in dish preparation while following menu and recipes.
• Knowledge of HACCP and food hygiene.
• Able to manage multiple orders and maintain quality.
• Professional and reliable with calm under pressure.
• Good time management and teamwork.
• Level 2 food hygiene certificate is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Take deliveries and check stock as needed.
• Prepare and cook food to high standards.
• Produce daily specials and maintain presentation.
• Present food quickly and efficiently while monitoring portion sizes and waste.
• Work as part of a team or independently in a fast-paced kitchen.
