Overview

This is an exceptional and exciting opportunity for a psychotherapist who would be interested in gaining additional invaluable skills and experience working in secondary care mental health services. As the successful postholder, you will be working within the Community Mental Health Service in Slough and wider Berkshire, offering your expertise to a wider multidisciplinary community mental health team.

Responsibilities
  • Work as a valued member of the Community Mental Health Psychological Therapies team within the Slough Mental Health Service and the trust Psychological Therapies wider team, providing a specialist psychological service to users presenting with severe/complex mental health difficulties requiring multiple interventions, complex/intensive risk management plans, and high levels of multiagency work.
  • Be reliable and knowledgeable, with great IT skills and familiarity with various systems and software packages.
  • Be able to travel independently across Berkshire.

Must haves
  • Accredited with UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) or British Psychoanalytic Council (BPC) as a psychotherapist.
  • Experience working in evidence‑based ways with service users (and their carers/families) presenting with the full range of clinical severity across settings, maintaining a high degree of professionalism in the face of highly emotive and distressing problems.
  • Ability to complete clear and detailed psychological assessments and collaboratively derived formulations of a service user’s presentation.
  • Experience dealing with highly distressing or emotional circumstances such as serious mental illness, child and sexual abuse, exploitation, and complex family dynamics.
  • An enhanced DBS check.
