Job Overview

Location: Longdon Park School - Derbyshire DE65 6GU

Salary: Up to £52,000 FTE DOE

Hours: 15 hours per week, 2 days a week, days to be confirmed

Contract: Permanent – Term Time only

Essential: Full valid UK driving licence and access to own vehicle

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Psychotherapist to join our developing Clinical Team based at Longdon Park School. In this exciting role, you will work collaboratively to deliver bespoke assessment, and intervention plans for pupils with complex communication needs, autism and associated learning and emotional needs. You will implement a holistic, therapeutic approach to helping our pupils in their daily lives, ensuring they are safe, comfortable and healthy. Undertaking all aspects of Psychotherapy clinical duties, you will adhere to professional and regulatory guidelines, carrying out specialist individual assessments and interventions, and preparing relevant documentation, including writing reports. A significant element of this role will be working alongside the onsite clinical team to continue to develop the clinical service provision, including providing support and training to staff and parents.

Key Responsibilities

As a Psychotherapist you will:

  • Deliver bespoke assessment and intervention plans for pupils with complex communication needs, autism and associated learning and emotional needs.
  • Provide holistic therapeutic support, ensuring pupils are safe, comfortable and healthy.
  • Adhere to professional and regulatory guidelines, carrying out specialist individual assessments and interventions.
  • Prepare relevant documentation, including detailed reports.
  • Collaborate with the onsite clinical team to develop the service provision and deliver staff and parent support and training.
  • Work independently while providing supervision as required.
  • Contribute to multidisciplinary, multi‑professional working teams within the designated specialty.
Qualifications and Experience
  • Degree qualification in a specific discipline, Level 7.
  • Registered member of one or more of the following bodies: HCPC, BACP, BABCP, PTUK, NCPC, UKCP.
  • An integrative therapist, CBT informed.
  • More than 2 years’ experience; not newly qualified.
  • Specialist education setting experience – working therapeutically within a school/child and adolescent setting preferred.
  • Clear and concise report writing relating to clinical and research activities.
  • Experience working with people with neurodivergence and/or complex needs (e.g., complex trauma, neurodevelopmental differences, mental health needs).
  • Ability to work independently as agreed under supervision.
  • Experience of multi-professional work teams or services within the designated specialty.
  • Evidence of continuing professional development relevant to the setting.
  • Full valid UK driving licence and access to own vehicle.
