Job summary

Academics is seeking an SEN Teaching Assistant for a SEMH school in Wantage. Psychology graduates are preferred to support pupils aged 5–16 with social, emotional and mental health needs. The role is full-time, 8:30am–3pm, ASAP start, with a daily rate of 85–105 GBP.

You will work alongside educational and occupational psychologists, counsellors and speech and language therapists, shadowing their work to tailor support for each child.

Qualifications

• Must have Psychology background or degree and interest in supporting pupils with SEMH needs.
• Experience or familiarity with special educational needs is beneficial.
• Ability to work with a multidisciplinary team including educational and occupational psychologists, counsellors and SLTs.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils aged 5–16 with SEMH, autism, ADHD and complex learning needs.
• Assist with personalised plans and therapy-informed activities.
• Collaborate with therapists, teachers and staff to promote wellbeing and learning.
• Be a resilient and passionate presence within a dedicated support team.

The SEN School are looking for SEN Teaching Assistants and Psychology Graduates to support children and young people with social, emotional and mental health needs, communication difficulties (autistic spectrum conditions, Asperger's Syndrome; speech, language and communication needs), ADHD and complex learning needs.
